     许多人对富贵花该如何正確的浇水多多少少都有些困扰。因为有时浇得太多怕它的根会烂，浇不够水又怕它的根茎缩水，所以大家通常都会说浇水要等泥土的表面干了再浇。

     为什么会这样说呢？那是因为富贵花本属多肉植物，根茎含水量大，所以它无需很潮湿的环境。举个例子～当你口渴时，你喝水是理所当然的事。不过，当你已经满肚子水了再叫你喝水，你还喝得下吗?所以当富贵花吸收足够的水份后，多出来的水份如果泥土的排水工作做的不好，那就会导至烂根。

     不过，如果你用的泥土排水和透气的情况良好，那你大可不用担心水浇得太多有烂根的问题。因为当你浇水，在泥土含到了水，剩余的水会立刻往下排出，这样盆内就会保持微湿，也不会积水。

     其实，植物要吸收养份，泥土完全干了是不行的。不管是有机肥或化学肥料都需要靠水份来帮助养份的释放和化学作用。所以适当保持泥土的微湿是必要的，这样植物才能有效的吸收养份。

     有部份人认为要富贵花快点开花就要少浇水。要故意让它感到没水的的威胁，让他有急迫感，让他感到不赶快开花传宗接代会来不及。其实，我觉得只要让它能吸收足够的养份后，开花是必然的，只是你给他的条件好或不好差异而已。你给它足够的养份，它就给你大量开花，反之就稀稀疏疏给你开两三朵。

     那，浇水到底要多久浇一次呢？哈哈，这我也说不准。这要看天气。比如～大热天，气温在三十度以上，又整天晒太阳水份容易蒸发，那肯定天天浇水。如果下雨天，就可以省下浇水的功夫。浇水最好的时段是在傍晚或早晨。千万不要在烈日下浇水，因为会让富贵花的叶子感染菌病，叶子变黄而掉叶。

Watering Concept for Adenium Flower

 Lots of people have a question on the proper method of watering for Adenium flower. Most of  people has facing a problem that the caudex of Adenium flower will rot if poured to much water OR will shrink if not enough water. Thus, most of the people, usually, will say observe the soil  surface and only watering when it is dry.

     WHY? The Adenium Flower is a drought-deciduous succulent shrub plant and thrives on a xeric watering regime as required by cacti.  Therefore, the basal caudex of adenium flower have large content of water, so it does not  require a high humid environment. For example, when you're thirsty, of cause, you will drink a  plenty of water. However, when you have a belly full of water, do you drink? So, the extra water will lead the to rot when the basal caudex of Adenium Flowers is absorb full of water and the  soil drainage system do not work!!

     However, if your soil drainage and ventilation system is good, you could solve the basal  caudex rot problem, because when you are watering, the remaining water is discharged down immediately, so that the basin will remain slightly wet only.

     In fact, the plant is unable to absorb nutrients if the soil is dry completely dry. No matter  organic fertilizer or chemical fertilizers have to rely on the water in help to release nutrients and chemistry in the fertilizer. Therefore, appropriate to maintain the soil slightly damp is necessary so that the plant can be effective to absorb the nutrients.

     There are plenty of people think that we could force the Adenium Flowers to bloom faster by reduce the watering. Their concept is let the Adenium Flower feel the treat of lack of water and has a sense of procreation urgency, and will quickly blossom before be too late. In fact, I think  as long as it can absorb enough nutrients, blooming is inevitable, but the difference is the  condition (good or bad) that you provided.You provided it enough nutrients, it will returns with  lot of flower blooming, otherwise it only bloom in two or three.

     Well, what is the best period in terms of wateringt? Haha, this I can not say. It depends on  the weather. For example, a hot day, with temperatures above thirty degrees and the sun all  day, water easily evaporates, it is certainly watered every day. If rainy day, you can save water effort. The best time of watering is in the evening or in the morning. Do not water under the hot  sun, because this let the Adenium Flower leaves easily infected with fungal disease and the  leaves turn yellow and drop.
